Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of shooting a heartwarming family portrait session at the historic University of Tampa campus, surrounded by its captivating Victorian architecture and manicured gardens.

Being a natural light photographer, I love utilizing the soft, diffused glow of natural light to bring out the true essence of my subjects. And this rainy morning photo shoot provided the perfect opportunity to create magical family portraits. Amidst the lush gardens, the overcast sky acted as a giant softbox, ensuring every image exuded a timeless charm.

The session starred a delightful toddler, whose smile and ceaseless curiosity lit up the frame. But that's not all – this session held even more significance. A favorite client wanted to express gratitude to her newborn boy's grandmother, who had been an invaluable support during those challenging initial months of parenthood. The family portrait session doubled as a heartfelt gift, celebrating love, family, and togetherness.

Throughout the shoot, I aimed to blend the historic charm of the University of Tampa with the genuine emotions shared by this loving family. The sprawling porch of the Henry B. Plant Museum, a national historic landmark, provided an exquisite backdrop, elevating the family portraits.

The grandmother's bright orange shirt, accentuated by the soft, diffused light, added a captivating pop of color to the images. These vibrant touches perfectly complemented the joyous spirit of the day.
